Evaluate suitability of coverage

We filmed footage for our short film, which is a psychological thriller. Our main theme is emptiness as the narrative revolves around the pandemic, where places were closed and empty. At the beginning of the film, we have a montage scene where we captured shots of some places where it seems to be public but are empty. We got some shots of the park, which is a place where there are usually a lot of people. This image denotes this as this is a shot of a section of a park that is empty. The idea of filming an empty public place would surprise the audience as there are usually people there. The idea of having shots of empty places would connote that the places the character is in would not have a lot of people around or that it will just be him.

We also decided to film in the school. This was another location that was used in the montage as a way to convey how different places are when there isn't anyone around. The idea of having the school as one of our main locations would be a way to set where the character first appears. To further convey the theme of emptiness, the school setting would be a great way to convey how some people would respond to being alone in places where it is normally packed. Denoted in this image is a person sitting in a classroom all by himself, looking around. This would connote how people would feel if they ended up in a situation where they were in a classroom all alone. The audience may be wondering where everyone is, considering he is there alone.

Another place that we filmed in was a Drama Studio. In this location, we used this for the last scene, where the character is in a house. We were able to adjust the lighting so that it would be mostly on the character and his 'friends'. We had a couch and two chairs, which were where the characters were sitting. Denoted in this image is the character sitting down on the couch, with him talking to his 'friends', who weren't actually there. This would connote how people would normally have a normal conversation in some sort of room with a couch, which is what people would sit on to be comfortable. This was suitable as we could display the main character's mind spiraling so much to the point in which he senses that there are other people with him.

Evaluating feedback

When we finished editing our short film, we did a focus group, in which we had some people come and watch our film and asked them to give so...
